The Grassroots Award recognised our humble beginnings at co-founder PJ’s house just six years ago. We are really proud of what the whole Velocity Commerce team has achieved in that time, and we continue to have big ambitions for the future, not just for Velocity Commerce but for our partners too.
Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100
2018 & 2019
In December 2018 and 2019, Velocity Commerce was ranked 11th and 30th in the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 – a league table that identifies Britain’s fastest growing companies over the last three years. We were recognised as having an 134.32% annual sales rise in the online electronics retail market, alongside achieving over £1 million is sales through Black Friday week in 2018.

In 2019, PJ & Eddie were listed as one of the 50 most ambitious business leaders in the UK by LDC.

Velocity Commerce was named one of the fastest growing companies in Europe in the latest FT 1000 report. With an absolute revenue growth of 1,187% and revenue CAGR of 134.3%, we are the 92nd fastest growing company in Europe and one of just 27 from the UK to make the top 100.
George Marino
Customer Services Manager
George has nearly ten years’ experience in customer service management. He has previously worked for a large online holiday booking company, where he dealt directly with customer inquiries and managed customer relationships. At Velocity Commerce, George oversees all customer service operations and ensures that the customer service team is equipped with the right knowledge to handle all customer enquiries, by organising special training from Velocity Commerce’s partner brands. George leads the team to deliver the best possible service to customers, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the business.
Liz Zabicki
Business Analyst
Liz has over 15 years’ experience as a business analyst, and has previously held roles that have seen her work as a support officer and an asset management analyst. In Liz’s role at Velocity Commerce she uses system data knowledge to create reports that provide meaningful data and inform business-wide decisions.
Alice Brown
Brand Assistant
Alice studied at the University of Nottingham where she gained a degree in English Language and Literature. After university she wrote scripts for a blogger and freelanced as a proof-reader, business copy proof-reader and academic tutor. At Velocity Commerce, Alice mainly supports with the Majority brand creating instruction manuals, copywriting, listing optimization and product development.
James Rostron
Design & Marketing Executive
James has worked in the design industry since 2012. At Velocity Commerce, James is responsible for the design and development of all graphics and imagery to support marketplace listings as well as managing all aspects of Velocity Commerce’s website, ensuring that it is kept up to date with news and information for potential partners.
Rosie Harding
HR
Rosie first joined the company as a member of the customer services team, and, having proved herself as a valuable member of staff during a busy Christmas, she is now on a journey to becoming a fully qualified Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) member. Rosie assists the HR manager and is the first point of contact for employees if they have any queries or need advice.
Stuart Pogson
Business Intelligence Manager
Stuart comes from a background in demand and merchandise planning for one of the UK’s leading supermarkets, and has extensive experience in improving the efficiency of merchandising and supply chain for retail businesses. Stuart supports with Velocity Commerce’s logistics services, enabling brands to optimise their presence online.
Aidan Coomber
Product Recovery Supervisor
At Velocity Commerce, Aidan manages the product recovery team which looks after returned and faulty stock. When items are returned, Aidan will lead the team to test and if possible fix the products, and he will also produce reports to be sent to suppliers to improve future stock. On top of this, Aidan is at the forefront of the business’ fight to reduce waste – once products have undergone the refurbishment process, Velocity Commerce is able to sell on the refurbished stock, giving a new lease of life to a product that might otherwise have gone to landfill.
Chris Pearce
Import & Sourcing Manager
Chris joined the team at Velocity Commerce following 15 years spent working as a senior buyer for a number of companies specialising in online sales, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge across a range of sectors. Chris manages the importing of products as well as finding new logistics solutions to increase efficacy.
Silvia Misa
Financial Controller
With more than ten years’ experience across a range of businesses, in particular multinational retail, Silvia brings to the team the ability to combine strong business insight with an analytical approach and effective management skills. Using her expertise, Silvia is helping to accelerate Velocity Commerce’s global reach, growing sales into new markets and expanding the business.
Adam Caseley
Marketplace Manager
Adam has a wealth of knowledge and experience in retail and e-commerce, having worked in the industry for more than ten years. Adam spent the early years of his career working as a buyer across a number of companies before becoming an e-commerce consultant. Drawing on his years of expertise in online marketplace algorithms, Adam oversees the optimisation strategy of all Velocity Commerce’s partner content.
PJ Scott & Eddie Latham
Directors
Eddie Latham and PJ Scott are co-founders and Directors of Velocity Commerce. With a background in business development, Eddie joined Play.com in 2012 as an eCommerce Consultant. PJ started his career as a buyer for numerous companies, including eBuyer, and held this position at Play.com for more than seven years.
In 2013, PJ and Eddie met and, utilising their combined knowledge of the industry, and with just £1,500 each of their own money, the pair started Velocity Commerce by selling clearance products online out of their homes in Cambridge. They ran the business part-time for the first 18 months and in that time they grew Velocity Commerce into a business turning over £100,000 a month.
The continued growth led PJ and Eddie to make Velocity Commerce a full-time career and they both took voluntary redundancy. Since then, the business has continued to sky-rocket. Today, the business has been named the 92nd fastest growing company in Europe in the FT 1000 report 2019. Eddie and PJ are responsible for identifying new partnership opportunities and oversee all company operations.
